KCBS BBQ COMPETITION

In consideration of my participation in the Meat & Tater Fest BBQ Competition (the “Event”), I acknowledge, understand, and agree to the following and will communicate both the liability waiver information and event conduct and quite hour policy with members of my team if applicable:

1. Assumption of Risk: Participation in this event involves risks such as burns, cuts, foodborne illness, injuries from cooking equipment, and interactions with the public and lost or stolen property. I voluntarily assume full responsibility for these risks.


2. Release of Liability: I, on behalf of my team, heirs, and assigns, waive and release Meat & Tater Fest, its organizers, sponsors, volunteers, The Meridian Lions Club, the City of Meridian, Julius M. Kleiner Memorial Park, and Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) from any and all claims for injury, loss, or damages suffered during my participation.


3. Indemnification: I agree to indemnify and hold harmless Meat & Tater Fest, KCBS, and the City of Meridian from any liabilities, claims, or legal fees.


4. Health & Safety Compliance: All food vendors must comply with Central District Health regulations. Failure to meet requirements may result in disqualification.


5. Insurance: I acknowledge that I am responsible for any personal or business insurance coverage.


6. Photo & Media Release: I authorize Meat & Tater Fest to use my likeness, name, and any media taken at the event for promotional purposes.


7. Final Decision Authority: I understand that all judges’ and organizers’ decisions are final.

• Quiet time is from 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM.


• Loud music, excessive noise, and disruptive behavior are strictly prohibited during these hours.


• Failure to comply will result in disqualification from the competition and immediate removal from the premises.

• Alcohol may only be consumed in designated areas.
  
• Public intoxication, underage drinking, or excessive alcohol consumption will not be tolerated.


• Selling or giving alcohol in any form to the public or attendees is prohibited.


• Violations may result in removal from the event, disqualification, and potential law enforcement involvement.

• All participants must respect park property, event staff, fellow competitors, and the public.


• Outrageous partying, disorderly conduct, or any behavior that disrupts the event will lead to immediate disqualification and removal.


• Teams are responsible for ensuring their guests and team members adhere to event policies.

• Teams must maintain a clean competition area at all times.


• Trash must be disposed of properly in provided receptacles.


• Any team that fails to leave their space in acceptable condition may be subject to fines, penalties, or disqualification from future events.

• Event organizers and security staff have the authority to enforce these policies at their discretion.


• Any violation of park rules, event policies, or city ordinances may result in disqualification and removal from the event without refund.
